The weapons we use.

Bladed Weapons:

  • Katana

The katana is the quintesencial weapon of the Japanese warrior and Ninja. The slightly curved edge gives the katana its characteristic look and feel as well as providing a smooth draw and speed while cutting.

  • Tanto

The tanto is the knife approximately xx cm long.

  • Wakizashi

Wakizashi are short swords used as a secondary backup weapon should you not have your main weapon at hand.

  • Naginata

Polearms approximately 6ft long with a curved blade fixed to the end of the weapon.

  • Yari

The classic spear. Approximately 7 - 9ft long, a long straight pole with a straight double edged blade at the end.

Stick Weapons:

  • Rokushaku Bo

The 6ft Bo staff. A long straight wooden stick approximately 20-30mm thick.

  • Jo

A shorter, thinner cousin to the Rokushaku Bo. Approximately 4ft in length and up to 20mm thick. Commonly used in Aikido martial arts schools.

  • Hanbo

The half Bo. 3ft in length and as thick as the Jo. This weapon is used in close combat and can be fashioned out of basically any straight stick like object from umbrellas to walking sticks.

Unique Weapons:

  • Kusari Fundo

A chain with weighted steel ends on either side. Approximately 2-3ft in length, although they come in a variety of lengths and sizes.

  • Kyoketsu Shoge

A knife and sickle combination attached to a 3-5m long rope. The end has a steel ring attached to it. This versatile weapon can be used up close with the knife end, from long distance with swinging like motions, or used to tie up and capture oponents. It can also be used as a tool to scale up walls and trees, or to carry heavy objects.

  • Jute

A steel truncheon used to catch and break swords as well as used as a bludgeoning weapon.

  • Shuriken

Throwing stars. They come in a variety of styles and shapes. Can be used to throw at an oponent to cause injury or distraction and can be used in close quarters fighting as a stabbing or slashing weapon.
